Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 June 2026

Markdump is a personal service, operated by Faruq Rasid, that stores your markdown files so you and the AI assistants you authorize can read and write them. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We collect as little as the service needs to work.

1. Who we are

Markdump (“Markdump”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Faruq Rasid, based in Singapore. For any privacy question or request, contact support@ruqqq.sg.

2. Information we collect

CategoryWhat it isWhy we have it
AccountYour email address and authentication sessions. To create your account and sign you in with a one-time email code. We do not use passwords.
Your filesThe markdown and other files you (or your authorized assistants) upload, their text content, file paths, sizes, timestamps, and prior versions. This is the core of the service: storing and serving your files back to you and the tools you connect.
Connection grantsOAuth authorization records and access tokens issued to the MCP clients you connect (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude). To let an assistant you authorize access your library on your behalf, and to let you revoke that access.
Search queries (optional)If you use the optional natural-language “Ask” feature, the query text plus usage metrics (token counts, timing, cost). To run the search and to monitor and control operating costs. This feature is off unless enabled; ordinary browsing, keyword grep, and filename find do not log your input.

We do not sell your data, serve ads, or use your file contents to train machine-learning models.

3. How we use your information

  • Authenticate you and keep you signed in.
  • Store, retrieve, search, and version your files.
  • Let the assistants you explicitly authorize read and write your library through the MCP connection.
  • Enforce storage quotas and keep the service secure and reliable.
  • Respond to your support and privacy requests.

4. Service providers we share data with

We use a small number of infrastructure providers (subprocessors) to run Markdump. They process data only to provide their service to us:

Provider rolePurposeData involved
Cloud infrastructure providerHosting, data storage, and the optional AI used for “Ask” search.Your account record, file contents, and — only if you use Ask — your query and relevant file snippets.
Transactional email providerDelivering one-time sign-in codes by email.Your email address and the OTP code.

We name these providers by role rather than brand. If you need the specific identity of a subprocessor for a compliance or data-protection request, contact us at support@ruqqq.sg.

Beyond these providers, we share data only when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer in which this policy continues to apply.

Note on connected assistants. When you connect an MCP client such as ChatGPT or Claude, that assistant’s provider receives the file content it reads on your instruction. How they handle it is governed by their privacy policy, not this one. Only connect tools you trust, and revoke access when you no longer need it.

5. Data retention

We keep your files for as long as your account is active. Because the service is built for safety:

  • Deletes are soft. A deleted file is hidden and stops counting against your quota, but is retained in the database so it can be recovered.
  • Edits are versioned. Prior versions of a file are snapshotted and retained.
  • One-time sign-in codes expire within minutes; access tokens issued to connected assistants expire and can be revoked by you.

To permanently delete your account and all associated content, email support@ruqqq.sg and we will erase it from our database and object storage.

6. Security

Access to your files requires authentication, and tokens issued to connected assistants are scoped to your account. File downloads and uploads use short-lived, single-purpose signed URLs. Data is hosted on established cloud infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect and retain to reduce risk.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Access & export. Your files are plain text you can view, download, or export at any time from your library.
  • Correction & deletion. Edit or delete files yourself, or ask us to delete your whole account.
  • Revoke connections. Disconnect any assistant to cut off its access to your library.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as Singapore’s PDPA, the GDPR, or the CCPA. To exercise any of them, contact support@ruqqq.sg.

8. International transfers

Our providers operate global infrastructure, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We rely on those providers’ safeguards for such transfers.

9. Children

Markdump is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised policy.
